My Experience in Techcamp

Last summer, I took part in an electronics camp known as Techcamp. I spent two weeks there and in the first, I constructed an RC car and in the second, I built and programmed an RGB hoop that a drone could fly through. In this blog post, I will talk to you about these experiences and present my overall thoughts about the camp.

As I mentioned, in the first week of Techcamp, I built an RC car and controller by following a set of instructions. During the process I learned to solder components onto a circuit board, the physics behind the design such as the differential and the electronics behind the controller. I also got to meet new people and make new friends so it was also a great social experience. It was a really cool camp in my opinion because of both the social and learning aspects as well as the fact that you got to keep everything that you built.

In the second week of Techcamp, I programmed and built an RGB hoop that I could fly a drone through. I learned how to program RGB colours using an arduino software which very closely resembles C++ and I got to continue improving my soldering skills. During a portion of the camp, I also messed around with a drone simulator so that I wouldn't immediately crash and destroy my drone. Like the RC car course, I raced against my peers through the hoops that we all made and in the end, I got to keep the hoop that I constructed as well as the drone.

In my opinion, the RC car project was a bit more enjoyable than the drone racing course but I was very pleased with both of them. If you are interested in any of these camps as well as others, you can click on the link below and check them out yourself:
