The latest Apple event was a few days ago and it introduced us to a bunch of new products. This includes the new iPhone 15 and 15 Pro, the Apple Watch Series 9 and the Apple Watch Ultra 2. Apple also emphasised its methods of combatting climate change via the use of recyclable materials as well as its goal to be carbon neutral by 2030.
Starting off, with the iPhone 15, this year Apple has added the dynamic island that was introduced alongside last year's 14 Pro. They also upgraded the phone's rear set of cameras from 12MP to 48MP which means it can now shoot 2x telephoto which is quite impressive. In terms of the phone's design, it is made of glass and aluminium and comes in 5 colours (pink, yellow, green, blue and black). One last highlight to note is the fact that the new iPhones now charge with USB-C instead of lightning which means that it will hopefully charge faster than before.
The iPhone 15 Pro takes everything from the 15 and makes it better. With a new chip, the A17 Pro, the 15 Pro now has crazy peformance capabilities. One thing in particular is its ability to use ray tracing which, so far, has pretty much only been seen on consoles and PCs. The design of the 15 Pro is also now made of Aluminium which is strong but light and has a nice finish. Another thing new is Apple's longest optical zoom ever in the 15 Pro Max which helps adds quality to far away objects when taking photos. The last thing to point out is that the mute switch has now been replaced with an action button that can do any task you want when clicked.
Both the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and Series 9 are similar to last years' models but come with new features. This includes new chips which allows for faster processing. Also, they now have a double tap feature where you can control parts of your watch just by tapping your thumb and pointer finger together on your watch hand. In my opinion, I think this will be quite useful, especially in the Apple Watch Ultra when its used in harsh environments. The displays of the watches are also much brighter making it easier to see them out in direct sunlight. All this makes the new watches feel and look much more powerful than before.
The latest Apple event brought quite a few new products that incorporate amazing new features. I am most impressed by the iPhone 15 Pro's ray tracing as it now allows games like Assassin's Creed Mirage and Resident Evil Village to run on an iPhone. I am excited to see these products out in the open so that I can take a look at their new features first hand.
